This blog offers a modest comparison between two pioneers of twentieth century Information Design: Harry Beck, designer of the iconic map of the London Underground subway system in 1933, and Ladislav Sutnar, most famous, perhaps, for his dynamic and rigorously organized catalog designs.  The impetus for this comparison has been Phil Winfield’s course ART 4561, Survey of Graphic Design, Spring 2010, Louisiana State University.
